Special Education Consulting Services

Special Education Consulting Services provides independent expertise to help parents navigate the special education system, ensuring a child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) meets their unique educational, behavioral, and developmental needs. The purpose of these services is to collaborate with you, your child, and their school system to ensure they receive the most effective support in compliance with federal and state regulations.

These services typically include the following:

  • IEP Goal Development & Review: Analyzing current goals to ensure they are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) and tailored to your child's specific academic, social, or emotional needs.

  • Assessment Analysis: Reviewing independent or district-issued educational, psychological, and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to interpret scores, clarify findings, and ensure all areas of concern are addressed.

  • IEP Document Reviews: Thoroughly evaluating draft or existing IEP documents before annual meetings to identify gaps in services, accommodations, modifications, or tracking methods.

  • Classroom & Student Observations: Observing your child in their learning environment to gather independent data on behavior, task engagement, and how well current accommodations are working.

  • Provider Consultation: Collaborating with your child’s private therapists, tutors, doctors, and school staff to align support strategies and present a cohesive plan during team meetings.

  • If you request, attendance at your child’s annual review (e.g., “IEP”) meetings can be a part of the services.
